Estimate snow-day chance from winter weather, road, timing, alert, and school-context factors.

Estimate ice-day risk from freezing precipitation, road ice, temperature, visibility, and alerts.

Calculate wind chill from air temperature and wind speed using the standard formula.

Convert liquid water equivalent to snow depth, reverse snow to water, and estimate snow volume.

Estimate icy-road risk from surface temperature, moisture, road type, treatment, and alerts.

Estimate practical weather risk for school commutes, road travel, walking, events, or general planning.

Use a transparent snow-day predictor with weather factors, local context, and confidence.

Weather tool cluster

These tools share deterministic scoring engines, visible factor tables, and live-data fallbacks. They are planning estimates, not official forecasts or school announcements.

How the Weather tools work

NexaCalc converts forecast or manual weather inputs into factor scores. Missing live data is excluded from the weighted score, and confidence is reduced instead of hiding the gap.

Live data

Live mode uses Open-Meteo hourly forecast data and attempts NWS alert context for US coordinates through a server-side route.

Manual fallback

Manual mode works without an API and is useful for testing scenarios from a local forecast, school message, or road report.
