What is a direct exchange rate?
In this tool it is target currency units per one source currency unit.
Finance Calculator
Analyze ECB reference, direct, inverse, implied, cross, bid/ask and fee-adjusted exchange rates with explicit quote direction.
Calculator
The result is calculated from the values entered. Currency conversion pages may request ECB reference rates; other pages calculate locally.
The calculator focuses on rate analysis rather than only converting one amount.
Enter the assumptions, add rows where the page supports them, choose Calculate, then review the result card, detailed table, visual comparison and CSV export.
Direct rate = target amount / source amount. ECB cross rate = target per EUR / source per EUR. Inverse rate = 1 / direct rate. Spread percentage = (ask - bid) / midpoint x 100.
Direct rates, amount pairs, base quotes, bid, ask and fee fields can each drive part of the analysis.
Rate direction is always target per source.
Fees are subtracted from gross target amount.
ECB reference mode calculates only after a successful ECB response.
Import an ECB reference rate or solve a direct/cross rate from entered values.
Calculate inverse rate.
Analyze bid/ask spread when entered.
Apply fees to estimate net received and effective rate.
Use this page to inspect the rate itself, not as a promise of an executable exchange quote.
If 1 EUR = 1.10 USD and 1 EUR = 0.85 GBP, 1 USD = 0.772727 GBP and 1 GBP = 1.294118 USD.
For 1,000 USD at 0.85 EUR/USD with 2% plus 5 EUR fee, gross is 850 EUR, fees are 22 EUR and net is 828 EUR.
The tool does not model provider settlement timing, unentered spreads or account-specific pricing.
ECB reference mode does not use placeholder fallback rates when provider data is unavailable.
NexaCalc does not ask for account numbers, bank credentials, saved portfolios or authentication for these tools. Currency pages may request a public ECB reference-rate file from the server-side adapter.
